The oldest monthly devoted to verse in the English-speaking world. Founded in 1912 by Harriet Monroe. Poetry regularly presents new work by the most recognised poets in America and Britain, but its primary commitment is to discovering new voices. In the past three years, over a third of the poets have been new to the magazine. It is famous for discovering poets very early in their careers. T.S. Eliot's The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock first appeared in Poetry as were early poems of Robert Frost
