We've been following the work Pressing Matters do since issue one, and now they're on issue 30! Modern printmaking and the people doing it. Great stuff.

"With everything that’s going on in the world today, it’s easy to feel like you want to bury your head in the sand or hibernate – I know I often do. Getting lost in my work and new ideas – be it for the magazine or in my printmaking experiments – is what truly keeps me going. This issue sees our makers sharing a real breadth of perspectives – whether it’s looking after the world by implementing safer, non-toxic printing practices or depicting nature’s forces and cycles with ink and paper, our artists have a real talent for capturing the complexity of life.

The importance of ‘sticking at it’ whilst being open to new approaches is something of a theme across this edition. But rather than a weird kind of endurance game, it’s important to see it as part of the overall creative journey, with all of its ups and downs. It doesn’t all have to be hard work though, as Ruth Ander suggests, “If you find something natural and enjoyable, it doesn’t mean it’s not worth anything. In fact, I would take it as a sign that you may be going in the right direction.”
