"It's been about 2 years since Popeye featured this Tokyo feature. But things are a little different than usual. It does not include a guide map of the city you are interested in or a lot of newly opened shops. Instead, I thought about ``living'' that is typical of Tokyo. What kind of clothes do you wear, what stores do you shop at, what kind of furniture do you have in your room, where and what do you eat when you get together with friends? We thought about what the life of a "city boy" would be like in 2024, which we think is interesting and cool, and carefully selected clothes, objects, and shops that symbolize that life and compiled them into one book. Ta.
This issue was mainly created by stylist Akio Hasegawa, who served as Popeye's fashion director from its 2012 renewal until 2018. Recently, he has been working outside the home, but he returned to Popeye for the first time in a while and created this book. This is probably a very biased Tokyo story. Essays by Akio Hasegawa's friends, including rapper ZORN, are also included."
