Join us in Stockport - the Gateway to the Peak District to hear Helen Mort and Sam Waller in conversation all about Ethel Haythornthwaite; pioneer, activist, environmentalist and poet.
Mort's book, Ethel, is a biography of a woman who is virtually unknown but who's tireless campaigning led to the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and the creation of the Peak District National Park.
Helen Mort is a brilliant and award winning poet, novelist, Senior Lecturer at MMU, mentor, climber, marathon and trail runner. She also wrote A Line Above The Sky.
Sam Waller is a photographer, BMX rider, occasional trail runner, wild swimmer and once interviewed Jonathan Richman. He is World Force Artifacts and Roman Candle zine.
