27/6/24 - Film Stock - Do The Right Thing

Fight the powers that be! Join us for Spike Lee’s game-changing Do the Right Thing (1989), a fun, fiery, and furiously relevant masterpiece which kickstarted a boom for Black indie cinema in the 90s.

The heat is unbearable on the streets of Bed-Stuy, and it’s only getting hotter. All the residents do their best to stay cool, but tempers flare and tensions continue to mount in the racially divided neighbourhood.

Equal parts Greek tragedy and 80s block party, Lee channels this melting-pot meets pressure-cooker environment into a powerful piece of political filmmaking, populated by his charming characters and punctuated with a killer soundtrack. And shot so well you’ll be tricked into thinking it can actually get hot outside!

Ticket price includes a free drink on arrival! Film starts at 7pm. Doors from 6.
