In this issue of Homme Girls, we pay Homage to Patrick Kelly, the great American,Paris-based fashion designer who died in 1990. As writer Marjon Carlos reports,Kelly riffed on Americana and Parisian kitsch, embellishing his looks with teddybears, ribbons, bows, Southwestern ephemera, and Mona Lisa signifiers. He collated his disparate inspirations in “Love Lists” that he would pass out at his fashion shows.
