Back in 2014, when no one had heard of super shoes and marathon queen Tigst Assefa was a young track star, Like the Wind published its first issue, bringing long-form, beautifully illustrated storytelling about running to a global audience.

A decade later, and we celebrate our 10th birthday with not one, but two magazines: issue 39 and a bonus issue 40, which looks back at developments in our sport since 2014.

We’ve always strived to tell stories of why we run and to represent running communities around the world. Issue 39 is no exception. Over 114 pages (on high-quality, FSC-approved paper) you’ll find stories including:

  • Gender-based violence: an in-depth investigation into the impact of gender-based violence on female East African runners
  • LA street art: how street artist Junker has joined forces with an LA run club
  • Scott Jenkins: an interview with UK “triple crown” runner
  • Stunning urban landscapes: photographing Sheffield’s post-industrial edgelands with the Urban Lycra Collective
  • Fell-running: why one of the UK’s oldest sports still has a huge place in the hearts of ultra trail runners
  • Young dreams: catching up with the teenage athlete determined to prove that marathons aren’t only for the middle-aged

Featuring amazing illustrations and beautiful photography, Like the Wind is more than a magazine – it’s a quarterly album of running stories from around the world.
