Like The Wind, that really beautiful magazine about getting out and about running everywhere is back with a new issue.
"Issue 47 of Like the Wind celebrates the runners who run because they must – because they can’t imagine not doing it. And the creatives who create because they must, inspired by trail or track, moulding those moments into artwork, poetry, photography, words, ideas. Sometimes a run’s just a run, but there’s much more to running than running.
In our feature story, Jonathan S. Bean investigates a new category of experiential running events: “Running is changing, with more recognition of what some communities have long known: that beyond competition, running can be a vehicle for social connection, adventure and spiritual growth.” And in Creative pursuit, Jaymes Shrimski brings together voices from Manila’s running scene, learning how they use running as fuel for their creative vocations. “Running gives me space to paint my own story as I go, rather than setting a target and running towards it.”
Throughout 130 pages, beautifully illustrated with photography and bespoke commissioned artwork, this issue of Like the Wind champions the spirit of runners who can’t and won’t be stopped. We’ve curated a wealth of stories from around the world and all aspects of running, including track, training, road marathons, and trail – both ultra races and personal quests."
