USELESS FIGHTERS is a new, lushly-produced magazine that aims to highlight the importance of our mountains to culture, politics, identity, sport, and just about everything else. It's a beautiful, contemporary biannual that reimagines the mountains for a new audience.
Arguing that mountains are not the sole terrain of resorts and recreation, USELESS FIGHTERS resists the tired clichés of snow play and alpine holidays to correct the old fashioned, white tourist fantasy and examine them from a global perspective through fashion, art, photography, sport, conversation and narrative.
Most importantly a document of the people who live, work, ride, climb, cross, play, explore, hike, drive across and creatively engage with the mountain environment, the magazine contains contributions from artists, photographers and fashion designers including Francis Alÿs, Lea Colombo, Setsumasa Kobayashi, Philippe Parreno, Yukari Chikura, Nigel Cabourn, Marvin Leuvrey, Abdellah Taïa, Francesca Gavin, Karim Boukercha, Quentin De Briey, Daquisiline Gomis and others.
USELESS FIGHTERS is published by PERMANENT.FILES, a new, 360° creative entity specialising in the creation, curation and production of new publishing imagery and ideas through magazines, film, books, clothing and more.
